Border guards captured two ethnic Albanian women from Kosovo in their twenties, a small child and a 37-year-old male Croatian national some 300m from the Kelebia border station on Tuesday evening.

However, a Croatian woman and three ethnic Albanian minors drove off in a Skoda Octavia with a Serb licence plate. Police stopped the car on the outskirts of Pirtó, Bács county, some 40km from the border.

The Croatian man and woman were held on suspicion of people trafficking.
