Budapest Transport Company BKV has launched a new boat service on the Danube, the company told MTI on Saturday.

In April, the service will run only at weekends and holidays, starting on Saturday. From May 1, the boats will operate every day.

The service connects Boraros ter in the southeast with Punkosfurdo in the north. Stops on both sides of the river will include Petofi ter, Batthyany ter, Jaszai Mari ter, and several points on Margaret island.

Tickets cost 900 forints (3 euros) and bicycles may be carried on board for an extra 700-forint charge, BKV said.
