Bicycle demonstration to remind gov't of pledges
Cyclists plan a large-scale bicycle demonstration of Saturday, December 2, to remind the government of its spring promises.
Some of those who took part in the Tour de Voks bike-riding procession outside the Socialist Party headquarters in March received verbal agreements to cycling projects from the governing parties. However, the subsequent transport programme and draft budgets do not include funds for the 3,500km of cycle paths to be completed by 2015.
Transport Ministry cycling official Ádám Bodor assured Magyar Hírlap that his staff has "drawn up proposals, and the transport programme is not yet finalised."
