Békéscsaba unveils new synagogue
A new synagogue, rebuilt from a prayer house, was unveiled in Békéscsaba, south-east Hungary on Sunday. The project cost some Ft 70 million.
Federation of Jewish Religious Communities in Hungary (Mazsihisz) president Péter Feldmájer recalled that before World War II the number of local Jews had been nearly 4,000, 90% of whom perished in the Holocaust.
