Árpád-era village unearthed on Hajógyári sziget
Archaeologists from the Budapest History Museum have uncovered a hitherto unknown Árpád-era settlement on the Hajógyári sziget, north of Budapest.
Only part of the ancient village has been excavated, but 19 houses are already visible on the surface.
The settlement may have been inhabited in the 11th-13th centuries.
Roman coins and stone carvings were also unearthed.
