"Actor of the Nation" Ferenc Zenthe dies at 86

Kossuth Award winner actor Ferenc Zenthe, known as the "Actor of the Nation," died at the age of 86 after a long illness on Sunday, hirado.hu reports.

 

One of his most memorable roles was as "Taki bácsi" in the 90s TV show "Szomszédok" ("Neighbors").

 

Zenthe was born on April 20th, 1920 in Salgótarján. He was member of the Pécs National Theater between 1945 and 1946, the Győr Kisfaludy Theater between 1946 and 1949, the Debrecen Csokonai Theater between 1949 and 1952, and the Budapest Madách Theater until his death.
