15 hospitalized with food poisoning at Hungarian Grand Prix
National medical chief officer Ferenc Falus has launched an inquiry after 15 people were hospitalised after eating food provided by a buffet at the Hungaroring race track during Sunday's Formula One race.
Fourteen adults and one child were rushed to hospital, but none were in serious condition and most were foreigners. The foreigners were taken to Szent László Hospital from Budapest hotels, not straight from the race track. The sale of food by those suspected of disseminating the epidemic was subsequently suspended.
In an unrelated incident a middle-aged man suddenly collapsed and died at the Hungaroring on Saturday, despite efforts by paramedics to resuscitate him.
Police arrested four women near the race track on suspicion of prostitution on Saturday.
