Budapest to host international student debate contest
Events at Central European University open to public
An international debating competition of university students will be held in Budapest for the second time this weekend, the organisers told MTI on Tuesday.
At the Budapest Open 2013 event over 150 university students from 30 countries will present their skills in debating major public interest topics on Saturday and Sunday.
Participants from Hungary come from the Budapest Corvinus University, ELTE and the Central European University (CEU) and students from the United States, Pakistan, Kosovo, Quatar, China and Tunisia.
The aim of Budapest Open 2013 is to improve the culture of debate and political discourse, organisers said.
The event hosted by CEU will be open to the public.
