My Caboodle: More than Just Your Bookmarks

My Caboodle allows registered members to create, save and use information displayed on Caboodle.hu. In addition to "bookmarking" links to articles, upcoming events, directory and marketplace items, it allows you to create customized lists, such as "museum exhibitions I want to see this summer," or "my favorite Budapest restaurants," which can be kept private, or shared with your friends and our other users. My Caboodle is also where users can modify and delete items they have submitted to the Caboodle.hu free marketplace. Note that this service is currently under development, and will be improved and expanded in the upcoming weeks and month.

Before using any My Caboodle features, you need to be registered and logged in. If you are not yet a registered All Hungary member, you can quickly sign up here. When you are logged in, the "My Caboodle" tab in the navigation menu at the top of every page on the site will bring you to your personal My Caboodle page.

To add an article, event, directory or marketplace item just click on the "Save to My Caboodle" link on any page where it appears. A link to the page will be automatically be inserted on the default My Caboodle page visible to logged-in users, which can be reached via the "Manage Bookmarks" tab on the top of the section's different pages. Articles, events, directory and marketplace items are stored in different sections on the same page. Events are listed in order of "end date," meaning that those events happening soonest - or, in the case of multi-day events, ending soonest - will appear on top. Events which have already taken place will be "flagged." All the information on this page is private, and you can add as many bookmarks as you like, and easily delete any that you no longer need.

To create a list, you can either click on the "add to list" icon which appears after an item you have already bookmarked, or create a new list from within the "My Lists" page. You can add bookmarks of any sort to any list, and move bookmarks between lists. You can also modify the name of any list by clicking on the pencil icon within the list. Note that if you delete a bookmark from the "Manage Bookmarks" page it will still be available on whatever lists you've added it to.

If you want to share a list with others, mark it "public." Note that in these cases, only your "screen name" will be visible to other users, and that if you want to email a list to a friend, it must be marked "public" in order for them to view it. Also note that public lists will occasionally be featured on other areas of the website. You can set lists to "public" or "private" at any point.
