EU accession anniversary

A state celebration will be held on Budapest's Hősök tere on the third anniversay of Hungary joining the European Union on May 1, reports origo.hu.
On the square, 13 "May trees" (májusfa) will be erected. One of them, the "May tree of the Country," will stand in the middle, decorated with 3,175 ribbons to represent the country's towns and villages.
From 10 a.m., one ribbon will be placed on one of the 12 trees in each hour, following folk traditions. Visitors will be entertained by dance shows and will have the opportunity to learn dances of different nations.
At 8 p.m., Megasztár 3 winner Magdolna Rúzsa will give a concert, followed by a fireworks display at 9:30.
The Táncház Egyesület (Dance House Association) will teach Hungarian dances until 11 p.m.
