this place was recomanded by the concirege of Kempinsky hotel
i went there for dinner first day and come back the next day again
may be in budapest are better restaurants but i remain very satisfy there
about price ?

my opinion its a very good restaurant

and for sure the best words for Chef Sergio
the second days i went there and i ordered everything outside menu
and Sergio prepared sth really nice and tasty

the choice was perfect becuse he found a very good wine and not expensive
and he prepared by himself even the caffe espresso
absolutely the best espresso in budapest
same like in italy

The place now reopened as an italian restaurant. The waiters very successfully avoid customers. The degree of inattentiveness is incredible for such an expensive place. The food is poor: Instead of a carpaccio with ruccola a few slices of parma ham with melon were served. A mixed salad comes dry without any dressing. The saltimbocca romana doesn't come with parma ham and white wine sauce as on the menu but as one lonely piece of meat on the plate with half a lemon.

To summarize: mediocre food, poor service, astronomical prices. I definitely won't go back.

Note that this restaurant is currently closed for renovations.

Waiters are inattentive, the menu is confused and it is relatively expensive.
Either cut the price and then the service level and food would be acceptable or instead improve the delivery of service and food!
Btw this could be said for a number of other restaurants in Pest- two notable exceptions recently and repeatedly enjoyed are Pava (4 Seasons) and Baraka (Andrassy Hotel).

Tom George is as casual or as formal as you make it. We once ate there for a special occasion, but the next night we ate there after a day at the Margaret Island Lido, looking a bit worse for wear, and the waiters didn't blink an eye. Tom George caters wonderfully for vegetarians, each time I go it seems s if there is something new on the menu for me.It's also a great place to eat out with friends who have mixed tastes, as it covers most major international cuisine. I absolutely love the place.

I went to Tom George last night and it was appalling. The white wine was warm and the manager had to admit that they had no cold white wine and didn't I know it was 38 degrees outside? Hmmm, can't Tom George afford fridges? We ordered tuna cooked medium/well and it turned up almost raw. I ordered chicken which was luke warm. No apology was offered by the manager for any of the incidents. My advice - avoid Tom George as there are plenty of other great restaurants in Budapest.

What a pleasant surprise! After avoiding TG for years as a pretty face and nothing more, I just had one of the more interesting, inventive meals of my Budapest-based existance for lunch there. Try the coriander-scented chicken next time you're there: it's divine. Badly described in the menu, but lovely to eat. It's two Indian-spiced ground chicken burgers that come with lightly pickled (but mostly fresh) vegetables, wrapped in whole-wheat tortilla. The whole thing is served with a spicy eggplant sauce. Yum, yum.
