We have just come back from a heavenly late lunch on the terrace at Szent Orban, followed by a sunset tour of Szigliget castle just down the road. It was one of the best meals I've had in Hungary - simple and excellent, so many thanks to Carolyn for recommending it on chew.hu. We chose fruit soup and consommé with dumpling followed by roast Mangalica pork and grilled goat's cheese and vegetables - it was all superb and the view over Lake Balaton was stunning. In fact, conversation was a bit boring because it consisted mainly of "Mm, this is delicious" and "Look at that view".

There was only one downside which is that there are no signposts. As of September 2009, Google maps labelling of roads doesn't match what's on the ground. What's shown as Kisfaludy Utca on Google.maps is marked as Romai Utca on the ground. What's marked as Szegedi Róza Utca on Google.maps is marked as Kisfaludy Utca on the ground and that's where the restaurant is. Anyway, you can follow signs to the Kisfaludy Ház and once you're going uphill on a small road, Szent Orban will be on your right after 200m.
