I cannot understand why this place so highly rated. Firstly this place seems to be Japanese: the name is japanese, the lanterns at the door are Japanese, the menu has Japanese, there are some Japanese magazines around and even the odd Japanese customer (when I was there). But the food is NOT Japanese... its a sort of sino hungarian mash up.
Secondlz the staff are clueless. Our waiter did not know which of the two dishes was which and they can only communicate with the kitchen by writing the menu item numbers on a piece of paper.
Thirdly the food is of low quality. My pork dumplings had been in the fridge for a couple of days before being steamed to order.
Fourthly the interior decor is plain rubbish.
And this place has always been like this. So why has it been on your top33 list for 5 years... right from the start if I remember correctly?
Why?

Yum. We ate in the old restaurant behind (Nimrod?) that needs a refit- but do not let that put you off. The food is excellent- I keep dreaming of the dumplings. "Chinese" food in Hungary is awful- I do not think it should be cooked and kept warm- here it is fresh and tasty. Give it a try.

I got addicted to this place...now it's hard to eat anywhere else :) Absolutely recommended!

I thoroughly enjoy most of the food here, but be warned: the hot and sour soup (and ramen) is horrendous. It reeks of vinegar and is only sour, but not in a good way. It was so bad that I found it necessary to talk to one of the cooks in Chinese about it. Hopefully they'll fix it. Otherwise, great food.

VERY GOOD place! One of my favorites in Budapest. Beef and duck dishes were a bit disappointing, but the veg fare was very good!

I LOVE the free tea, and even more the great service. We call this place "good" Chinese since so many of the bufe's in town are full of MSG. This place is indeed good.

Quality Chinese food! Every time I'm there I see some local Chinese patrons enjoying the food as well.
The atmosphere is chill and definitely not pretentious.
If you enjoy good Chinese food, there's no other place to go to.

Like some of the reviews say it's torn between Chinese and Japanese and doesn't quite hit the spot on either. I enjoyed the ramen though it's a way from being good Japanese ramen and the dumplings didn't seem fresh but were nice enough when you've been starved of asian food for a while.
