Was good. Was.

Just went there again recently and there is a noticable drop in quality. Along with a significant price increase. Pizza did not have much flavor and was a bit underdone. They had great pizzas before. And the service is still bad as usual. To top it off they refuse to serve tap water and they automatically add 10%service charge.

Place to avoid. It will only get worse.

Food was good, but waiter so rude it almost ruined the whole experience. Why would anyone choose such a job and obviously regard customers as trash. I'm amazed. Pippo needs to shape up his people big time. Sorry.

A very good place. It was even better until Pippo opened a second restaurant in the bank district. He got too busy and the (Hungarian) cook in Millenium enjoyed more freedom with very mediocre results. So when Pippo is present food quality is really good, when he is in the other venue waiters are rude and pasta is overcooked. This is Hungary.

How disgusting

Best Italian restaurant in town by far (except Fausto which is too expensive for me). I am Italian so trust me: Pippo is the only one in Hungary who knows how to cook pasta and fish. I really do not understand why somebody complained about furnishing (informal and funny) and names of dishes (are you eating the menu or what? are you a refined literate? come on...). Do not be derailed by an idiot: this is a good place. Unfortunately waiters are Hungarians though..........

Too pricy for the quality and service. 4/10.

Disgusting, furnishings a lot of kich, the kitchen is the classical trap for tourists with names of absurd dishes. Pizza mafia? Del Piero? Pizza Bolognese? Shame !

Visited this place for a birthday dinner. Looks nice, but was a bit cold (Decembers in Budapest get chilly). Italian-English menu well organized, but no wine list. We had to rely on our waiter's unenthusiastic and price-focused recommendation (the guy repreated the price of win several times, but it wasn't THAT expensive). The wine turned out to be nice (Prosecco sparkling dry wine). We had nice food: warm potato carpaccio with some ruccola and a shrimp - I've never seen such a thing before, WARM carpaccio made of potatoes, but it was tasty; radichio risotto was also fine as the rice was nicely cooked and gooey. This risotto came on a crust made of parmigiano and was particulalry tasty. Our main course was the grilled sea bass with a sauce of cherry tomatoes, green olives and capers. The sauce was tasty and refreshing, large capers were good as ever, but the olives felt like they came out of supermarket plastic bag. Pannacotta with some raspberries came as a dessert and was tasty. I would suggest not to serve it with chocolate, caramel annd starwberry syrups next time. We had Sicilian red Passita as our dessert wine. It was of average quality. We finished with a decaff espresso (really decaffeinated, as I had no problems sleeping afterwards!). At the very end, two limochellos came on the house.
I would go there again, hoping to avoid our waiter from last night.

Highly recommended, I agree. Authentic fresh Italian food, normal pricing, friendly staff, unpretentious atmosphere.
The Sicilian Red that you wrote about is great, we finished off 3 bottles in 6 :-)
Will definitely be back!

Highly recommended. Unlike places like Toscana and Il Terzo, which for some unexplained reason are "Top33", Pippo actually knows how to cook pasta. Fresh made spinach tortellini was outstanding and they made a perfect rigatoni and sausage cooked properly al dente. Will have to try other dishes next as I always order pasta first in a place because if they can't get that right they suck like Toscana and Il Terzo.

Medium pricing but worth the money. Note they have high markups for appetizers, side dishes, wine and desserts. Stick to mains and it is well worth it.
