The Garden of Paris may not make you think you are on the left bank, but they will deliver a very reasonable experience. As the name implies, they have an extremely nice garden area in nice weather that very much helps to set the tone for meal. The food is very good and the wine list offers enough choices to enable you to purchase a bottle or two without going broke. My fondest memory is of the sliced goose breast that I had on my last visit – it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The place does get crowded on weekend evenings, so reservations are recommended. I’ve also heard some reports that the service can be spotty when they are at their most crowded. Still, Le Jardin is a good recommendation – especially in the garden in nice weather.

Expensive, run-down place. It had some redeeming qualities untill we tried Creme Brulee which was made from artifical powder. Inexcusable.

Le Jardin de Paris was the first non-Hungarian restaurant we ever enjoyed in Budapest - way back in 1992 - and its large garden area, complete with tumbledown ruins and boule (bocce) court, is a delight. (Though the noise from Fő utca - or "main street" - can be a distraction.) Food-wise it is determinedly middling, if not at all shabby, and in terms of price/value, more than passable, especially if the surroundings appeal to you.
