I used to go here several times a week, but got tired of the vendors (especially those on the side aisles) ripping me off because I'm a foreigner. I guess it's no use trying to explain that they might get an extra 100 forint from me one time, but they lose my steady business.

Great place to find a variety of foods. But avoid the strudel place (on the ground floor/middle aisle). They are inedible and the ladies who work there are incredibly rude. Any place that hangs up a sign that says, "We accept no complaint after the customer has walked away" should be avoided!

There are many foods you would be hard-pressed to get elsewhere. Also the quality of the produce is very good, at least you have plenty opportunity to shop around to find the best. Get there before 1pm on a Saturday to ensure you get everything you need, however many vegetable stalls are open right up until 3pm on Sat. Fresh sea fish downstairs Tue & Fri. If you cook a lot, this market will find you!

We went here every morning to get some breakfast/lunch. Good fresh fruit, bread and meats. The people working are friendly and helpful for the most part. The upstairs mainly sold tourist type goods and had afew cafes/bars that we never went to. Below the market is a supermarket that was also good for most things. If you live nearby this place is definately worth it from a practical point of view. The building is also great looking and attracts many people just wanting to take photos
