Notes: Hősök tere was built in 1896 for the millennium of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin. The figure of Archangel Gabriel stands on top of the central column, encircled by statues of the seven conquering Magyar tribal chiefs. The 14 greatest rulers of Hungary stand on the two colonnades.
