Csokonai Színház
Csokonai Theatre4024 Debrecen, Kossuth utca 10
| ![]() |
Notes: Named after the hapless and impoverished 18th-century revolutionary poet, Mihály Csokonai Vitéz. (He is also commemorated in a statue on the east side of the memorial garden near Kálvin tér.) Built in the 1860s, the Moorish-Byzantine ornamentation of the theatre is particularly striking in the wider context of the city’s Protestant austerity.
