Notes: The Gyermekvasút was built in the 1940s and was originally known as úttörővasút, as at the time, it was run by úttörők (pioneers), the youth organization of the Communist Party. Today, the miniature train is run by children between the ages of 10 and 14 who take a special course to prepare them for the job. The train winds its way slowly through the hills of Buda, offering beautiful panoramas.
