On the site of the old, fantastic Bombay Palace this is a huge disappointment.
Worth walking 5 minutes to Jokai/Zichy jeno corner and go to Nirvana instead.

I love Indian food and am willing to forgive a lot just for a wiff of curry in my grub. But lunch there today was beyond even my gourmand limits. The beef in their madras was out-and-out old. Musty, even. There was fresher beef in my sneakers, fer Carp's sakes! I'm sadly disappointed to see pseudo Indian fast food fail so miserably.

The restaurant was clean and inviting.
I thought the overhead menus were a bit confusing.
My tandoori chicken was delicious, althought the meat portion itself could have been bigger. I thought the rice was a bit plain, but then again it was the 'plain rice' (as opposed to 'vegetable rice')
My friend had the lamb dish, and it was delicious.
It was a bit overpriced I thought considering its a self service restaurant. Each our menus cost 1500Fts.
I like how they have an all you can offer after 10pm for 2500Fts though.
The staff was friendly.

Was excited to try as I love Indian. Interior feels squashed for space and food is below average. Wouldn't go back.

I hope the management of Bombay Express will read this: using Indian spice in cooking does not automtically make it Indian. I had the classic chicken Tikka wrap today. Yes, tasted the spice, but it was not Tikka! Staffs were surprisingly professional though.
