With all due respect, If you think that anything in Iguana is spot on then...you must be from Europe or Minnesota. Mexican food in Europe in general, sucks. For starters, Mexicans don't put corn in everything, as a matter of fact, they don't put it in anything-they grind it into flour and meal for tamales and tortillas. I've never eaten corn in Mexico. White flour tortillas were invented by gringos in Texas. The slop that passes for Mexican food in Budapest /Europe is embarrassing. Do yourself a favor-go to Culinaris, buy the proper ingredients and do it yourself at home.

After a year of putting it off I finally went to Arriba since it was to treat a friend for his birthday and as much as I want to, I have to saw I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the carne asada quesadilla and came up losing big time. First it took 10+ minutes, really closer to 15 but I wasn't timing them until I realized how long it was taking. I went up to the servers who 'politely' told me sorry and would be ready soon because Quesadillas take a while...why? that I dont know. Having asked for guac, jalapenos, and sour cream, after eating the first of 3 pieces I wondered where was the heat? Opening it up was even sadder, no jalapenos, no sour cream and my god, there was barely even a trace of actual cheese...I thought I ordered a quesadilla, there should be tons of cheese, WTF??? I've eaten the Iquana quesadilla before and its spot on, so what gives. I was now more happy to ask where the peppers were and again 'politely' got a real sorry with some peppers. A few mins later the server gave me a comp glass of horchata to ease my feelings...had I left Hungary? Its now 1 hr later and I still feel like I need to go out to lunch. Service was perfect, aside from slow kitchen and screwing up the extras, but quesadilla it was not, and for 1,400ft I don't think I will be returning anytime soon...sticking with Iquana instead.

I don't like admitting I might have made a mistake, but at least egg on the face is good for the skin. Mo and team went more than the extra mile to rectify the service slip-up and did so efficiently and quickly, and without hesitation. I was surprised to find the managing staff are more concerned with their customers and employees as people instead of just dollar signs and it makes me feel a lot better spending most of my paycheck in there. I've been told to try the especiale enchilada over at Iguana for a taste of how good it's getting and I have no doubt anything else I whinged about is being fully turned around.
It's crazy to know somewhere in Hungary listens to their consumers, treats everyone well, and still finds time to make excellent food. Mad props.

Treating people like bollocks now and cocking up orders left and right when it comes to home delivery. Arriba is lovely when you go in to eat, but the complete opposite of grand when you want them to come to you. Furthermore, as they've cornered the "Mexican" market (and really, let's face it, Arriba and Iguana have nothing on quick, fresh Mexican from Stateside) they seem to have really let their standards slip with haphazard prep and worsening food. Not to mention crap in customer service.

Simply over priced for average food. Meat in a burrito is like 50g (

Despite the price increase I still think you get your money's worth at this place. The service is fast, the food is good, and you can pile on the toppings as you please (don't be afraid to ask for more meat/veggies too if you feel like they haven't given you enough. . .I've found they are usually happy to oblige). I've been living here for 2 years now and this is one of the best run fast-casual places around. I'm here at least twice a week for lunch.

I share the dissapointment. My once-a-week visits to Arriba have come to an end due to the arrival of higher prices, smaller portions and lower quality.

Disappointment. While I was a proponent of Arriba in the first weeks of its opening, I have recently been disappointed by the rise in prices (which, in all fairness, was probably to be expected), and, more recently and importantly, the size of the portions (e.g. if you order the burrito, without beans or rice (which, as everyone whose been to Mexico knows, is how it should be eaten), expect very little meat), and the new salsa 'recipe' (which makes it tastes like it 'fresh from a can'). Hopefully this is a result of a temporary letdown by staff/management.

Pleasantly surprised, living out here for a few years. Great place, fed the wife & kids with some great mexican eatings. Been eating mexican for over twenty years, gotta say Arriba kicks ass. No Hungarian goulash, if you're into that, tough luck. But for mexican food in Budapest, looks like they nailed it. It's a retro-chipotle, arguably better than the original, for a simple reason: you can feel the non-corporate love.
